Loving with a free heart and not grudgingly.

It's a new month, right? but first thing first people, I'm going to thank you all for taking the time to read the previous post "Life is a drama" and use this medium to welcome you to the new month,

Okay, I wrote this a few days back and then was skeptical about posting it. We’re in February and February is named for the Latin word "februum" which simply means purification. As we also know it is the shortest month of the year, having 28 days in common years or 29 days in leap years, with the 29th day being called the leap day, and is also known to be a month of love and happiness.

The first Bible verse my mum taught me was "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16. This is one of the most widely quoted verses from the Bible and has been called the most famous Bible verse. Indeed, many of us would certainly agree that the very heart of the gospel is that God so much loved the whole world that He sent his Son to make salvation available for everybody. Understanding that the greatest achievement for a human is to love God, yourself, and others are ultimately key, however, you might not want to hear this but this is a real fact, loving others could cause you real pain that you’d regret having to have met them and am sure some of us can attest to this. Some people don't like or either love you but pretend they do for what they stand to take from you, they only love you because they can use you, they love you because of the benefits that come with your life and I bet you as soon as those benefits leave, those people leave also.

So, if God already loves us why shouldn't we love ourselves? Why shouldn’t we love our enemies, of course, we do have those who dislike us, those who don’t agree with us, but is it enough reason to not want to like or love them? Loving your enemies can also mean trying to interact and make peace with them. In the end, if you can establish some common ground and patch things up, you'll have succeeded in making another friend, right? Besides, who doesn't need friends? This can also help you in working with people in the long run.

Looking ahead, loving people is not negotiable, it’s like a guessing game or let’s say gambling and that's the beauty of it. There is no guarantee, it's like one diving into the pool of water without knowing if it's shallow and deep. Yeah, if it's shallow, you'll end up hurt and paralyzed from the neck down. But if it’s deep, you know it’s a leap of faith. It’s like throwing yourself out there without any guarantees and that's what exactly life's about. You will only be remembered for two things, the problems you solve or the ones you created, and that’s exactly why the love we give away is the only love we keep, what we have done for ourselves alone dies with us. What we have done for others and the world at large remains and is immortal. So, our existence and lives should characterize love by reaching out and loving someone without demanding love in return, expecting nothing but rather, wearing a heart of gold and letting it project by aiding to heal broken hearts and injured souls.

"Let's not forget that to be rich is not what you have in your bank account but rather what you have in your heart. Life isn't about expecting and hoping, it's about doing and becoming, it's about the choices you've made and the ones you're about to make, choices are privilege and honour."

So, on this note, you don't need to deliberately decide when to show love to someone or either decide when to show love to people regardless, it should be done with a free heart and not grudgingly. It shouldn’t just be done only in February and then we fold the love very neatly after the month is over, then move on to being who we use to be and wait again till next year to show some love again.

Never forget that we get off life what we put into it. The way we treat others is the way we get treated. So, when we treat other people with kindness and love, it is part of our way of paying our debt to God and the world for the privilege of living on this planet.
